Description

Take the next steps on your path to a health career at this annual event. Hear from practitioners about their fields, get tips on how to become a better candidiate, network over lunch, attend practitioner panels, and connect with opportunities. Physiotherapy, osteopathy, optometry, dentistry, pharmacy, chiropractic, therapeutic recreation, and more!

Please feel free to come for the full day or pick and choose which sessions you’d like to attend.

Listen to 3rd and 4th year students talk about how they chose their professional path! Learn about their planning, activities, and what they’re thinking about in their last years at the University of Waterloo.

2017/2018 Applicant Panel

Hear from some of last year's successful applicants. Find out what they did during their time at UW to position themselves as excellent candidates. Get tips on planning and applying for professional schools.

Rehabilitation Professionals Panel

Covering professions such as occupational therapy, speech language pathology, and chiropractic. Discuss patient case studies and learn tips from professionals on getting into these occupations.

Health Professionals Panel

Interested in health-related professional programs such as an optometry, pharmacy, or physician's assistant programs? Attend this panel to hear from practitioners about their scope of practice and interactions with patients through a complex case study.

Medical School 101

Discover if medical school is right for you with a presentation from Dr. Moreland. Join this session for information on the application process, how to succeed in medicine, and an open Q&A.

Volunteer for Your Career

Learn how to choose volunteer opportunities that will make you stand out in your applications. Information will be provided as to the most effective types of medical volunteer work, along with examples of volunteer organizations in your field. Career Advisors will be available for an open Q&A immediately following this session.
